Joe O'Connell was arrested after the Balcombe Street Siege in London in 1975 and sentenced to Life imprisonment. He is a native of county Clare and was 24 years of age at the time. He is a single man. Some family members still live in Clare and have maintained contact over the years. Joe O'Connell is currently held in Full Sutton prison.
