Republican Women Prisoners
Rosaleen McCorley was born in Belfast on 14th January 1957. She became involved in the republican movement in 1972 having witnessed the political unrest since 1969. She left school at 17 and worked in the Housing Executive until the time of her arrest in 1990, She was charged with attempted murder and sentenced to 22 years. She has just completed an Honours degree through the Open University and will pursue a Diploma course in French starting this year. She has a strong interest in the Irish language and is also involved in woodwork, computer studies and music, specialising in the guitar. She expects to be released in February 2001.
